Traveling

Everyone asks how Wyatt did on the plane...he did great. Alittle crying between Fairbanks and Anchorage but he managed to fall asleep just as we were about to land in Ajnchorage to switch planes. We were worried but he actually staayed asleep getting off the plane, during the hour lay over and getting back on the plane. Here he is crashed out in Anchorage.

He woke up for a bit between Seattle and Chicago but it was not bad at all. Only bad part was that Mama and Papa had a hard time sleeping with a baby in thier laps. Hope it goes as well on the way home.

Christmas Tree

We found another tree suitable for Christmas right in our yard again this year. The whole family went, I think the goats had the most fun. They kept trying to eat the tree we picked.

Wyatt was pretty good around the tree. I think he left it alone becasue the needles were too prickly.

Videos

We are back in WI visiting my family and I thought I would take advantage of moms much higher speed connection and post some videos of Wyatt. He is up to 8+ baby signs in addition to saying banana, mama, umm- umm, ba ba for sheep, moo for cow, woof woof for dog and making monkey noises. Needless to say he is very entertaining these days.

Gettin' Out

Winter is here but we are still managing to get out, it's just a bit more of a production to get everyone bundled up. Luckily it has not been too cold yet.

We got the ski attachment for the Chariot- it works great.
Jeff took Wyatt out for a ski and I went for a walk with Dan and Adrian, and when we got back we found the the boys hard at work fixing the snowmachine.

We have many different hats :)

My guys taking a snooze after a hard day.

Thanksgiving

So much to be thankful for again this year... We celebrated Thanksgiving at our place, seemed like a great chance to break in the new kitchen. We had 20 people over for dinner but it was super easy for us becuase everyone brought a dish to share- what a spread! and you should have seen the pies! Chocolate, pumpkin, pecan, blueberry, apple- YUM!! Of course the best part was hanging out with friends, it was so nice to see everyone. Thanks everyone, I wish you all lived in Delta.

Dan and Adrian hanging out in the new kitchen.

Chad getting weighed in. It has beome somewhat of a tradition to weigh in before and after dinner to see who gains the most. Tom won this year packing on 6 pounds. But he didn't touch Max's record of an impressive 11 pounds (Max was not here this year).

Relaxing after the big meal.

And more to be thankful for- we got the big news that Carrie and Duff are expecting a baby in May :) Congrats you guys!!

The Boy

Wyatt James- almost 11 months now. Not walking yet but he has started to use his baby signs a lot. He does fish, dog, hat, light, bird and is working on flower and more. He has also started to to say, "nana' for banana and "moo" for cow. We were watching monday night football at Ellens last night and a commercial came on which had a dalmation on it and Wyatt apparently got confused by the spots and thought it was a cow and started mooing- very cute.

Here is Wyatt enjoying his new stool that Grammy Pam got him.

Here is Wyatt enjoying all the rest of his many toys...the best one always seems to be at the bottom of the box.
Found it!
Wyatt also loves to look at pictures of his family and friends on the refrigerator. He also likes to try to climb into the refrigerator...which is probably good becuase it keeps me from standing there with the door open for too long.

Visit with Shiway and Dave

Dave and Shiway were the last of our moose hunting visitors. Dave and Jeff got the moose and like usual Shiway and I logged some quality girl time.

Dave managed to get in some baby time too...never now when it may come in handy :)

I think Wyatt was impressed, Dave is a very talented guy.

Wyatt was lucky enough to recieve another great hat from Shiway-Thanks!!

Catch up

Well, I am way behind on the blogging again. It has been pretty busy lately. This year there was a special draw hunt for cow moose around Delta and it worked out nicely for us becuase we had a lot of friends come stay with us while hunting. So we have had visitors almost every weekend for months now. Unfortunately I have not been taking too many pictures. Also Little Wyatt has been sick for about 2 weeks now. Started out with a fever for 3 days then he got an ear infection, got put on antibiotics and got diarrhea and super bad diaper rash then started getting a snotty nose. On thursday I took him into the clinic becuase he wasn't nursing and was throwing up. The PA at the clinic in DJ ran some blood work and some of his liver enzymes were high...well the guy totally freaked me out and was talking about flying Wyatt to anchorage to the Childrens Hospital saying he may have Hepatitis or some liver disorder. Needless to say I was freaking out!! and of course Jeff had been out of town all week. Well he called the Dr. in and he basically said Wyatt had a sore throat and a cold and sent me home. So I was completely confused...Jeff came home and Wyatt was doing better that night but we took him into Fairbanks to the pediatrician just to be sure and she also said was fine and just had a bad cold. Man, having a sick baby is not fun!!!

If the video worked, you can see Wyatt is getting pretty good at walking with help- scary!!

Happy Halloween

We didn't do much for Halloween this year. Wyatt put on his orange pumpkin onsie and we went to story hour at the library..boy, life sure has changed!!

We did get Papa to help carve a punkin and I roasted the seeds- wild and crazy aren't we?

Bundled up and blue :(

Sheep Hunt

We are happy to report Jeff got a sheep. He went down around Girdwood with his buddy Larry- sounds like it was a pretty easy trip as far as Sheep hunting goes.

Visit with Andy, Kate and Hawken

We were lucky to have gotten to visit with the whole family this year. Hawken and Wyatt had fun and it was nice to have Kate around, so we could talk about stuff other than hunting. And Congrats to Kate on her first moose!! Andy is not the only one who can put meat in the freezer :)

Hawken doing his best dragon impression.

Wyatt doing his best highway impression :) Hawken had fun rediscovering all his old toys that had somehow ended up in Wyatt's toy box.
The boys.
Proud Mamas.

New Floor!!

We finally got our flooring installed- its great! It looks nice and it is great to have a clean place for Wyatt to crawl around on.
Here is the dining area- we are still planning on putting in a small breakfast bar on the back side of the kitchen cabinets and some shelves in the hole that you can see in . The floor looks a little darker in this picture than it really is.

Wyatt is happy with the new floor too.

And he likes to help Mama unload the dishwasher :)

Change of Season

Winter is here..we have several inches of snow in the ground and it was -5 the other morning.

So much for the garden and good goat snacks.

Winter in AK means bunny boots, even for babies :)

Wyatt the red nosed baby.

Guess it's time to buy the ski attachments for the Chariot.

So big!

Wyatt is just over 9 months now. He weighed 18lbs 13 oz at his check-up. He is also getting his top two teeth in, crawling, pulling himself up and walking while holding on to the furniture.Wyatt loves to be standing up on his own.
When Wyatt gets moving he goes straight for a dog, a dog dish or the wood stove...exciting times for everyone.
And yes he is still cute!!!

House Update

Well Grandpa is back in WI resting up after his summer of building. He ended up extending his trip twice, He said he wasn't leaving until he got a hot shower! Now, thanks to Grandpa, we can have a hot shower whenever we want :) We are fully functional, the last big thing is getting the flooring in-hopefully that will happen this week and then it's just a bunch of little finishing projects like painting, trim work, building the bar, knobs on cabinets, little more tiling in the bathroom, getting the old cabin rearranged, etc. Unfortunately these little projects have a way of getting put off sometimes.

Yup, we even have a dishwasher- crazy!

And a microwave- curtesy of Grandma. But no, Jeff has not given up his grill quite yet :)

Finally a new stove, no more excuses for burnt baked goods.

And the most exciting part of the house.......no more trips to the outhouse at 40 below zero. But I do kinda miss the blue foam toliet seat :)

Wyatt LOVES the big tub!!
