Afternoon Art

Our good friend and neighbor, Sara, invited Wyatt and I over for and afternoon of art and music. What a riot, these three boys are going to have lots of fun growing up together, and these moms are going to have their work cut out for them!

Wyatt's first crayons. He was pretty excited, but ended up being more interested in ripping up the paper.

Owen making watercolor hand prints. Each of the boys got a couple nice prints in the end and it didn't even turn into that big of a mess.

On the the music. Sara has a entire house packed full of every imagineable instrument and Owen at 2 already knows how to play most of them. Here he gives Wyatt a Kazoo lesson.

On to the big fun- the drums!!

And of course Torsten had to get in on the action :)

The beginings of the neighborhood garage band....I guess we need to build a garage!

Cute!!

1 year old!!

January 6th was Wyatt's first birthday!! Hard to believe a whole year has gone by already, it sure has been a fun one. We didn't have a party but I did make Wyatt a silly party hat (which of course he hated) and a carrot oat bran muffin frosted with yoghurt and bananas- I know I am no fun, but the end result was the same as it would have been with any other cake.

A little bit did actually make it into his mouth....

but then the mashing began....

followed soon after by the smearing....

then the rest went on the floor where the dogs finished it off.

Ice skating

Elkhart just opened up a new skating rink so we went to check it out. Pretty nice and popular, even in the rain! A least no one fell in this time :)
It had been a while since some of us had been on skates...but its just like riding a bike.

The skaters.....

and the waiters......

Baby's Second Christmas

Wyatt got to celebrate his second Christmas a little early.

Uncle Ben got to pass out the presents, he was the baby in the family at one time.

You couldn't even see the floor!

Wyatt loved his Ragged Andy doll :)

On to Indiana

We drove to Jeff's parents house in Elkhart, Indiana on Christmas Day and spent six days with his family. All of his siblings and thier kids were there too so there was a lot of activity in the house, never a dull moment, especially for the grandparents!

Uncle Jeff and baby Ana

Aunt Ann with Wyatt

Kate was a HUGE help with the babies!
Proud Papa Mike with his baby Ana. Ana Just turned one on Dec. 17th.

and yes she is up and walking!!

Baby Will might not be walking but is has master the art of spitting!

Grandpa and Wyatt had to take a time out, they are not used to so much activity!

We left AK at -40 and got to WI and had snow and freezing rain, IN brought green grass and a couple nice days of blue skies before the rain came.

Kate watches while Ryan and Alex skate on VERY thin ice. I bet you can guess what happend next....

Yup- sploosh!! Alex went in. We tried to tell him :)

Baby's First Christmas

We celebrated Wyatt's first Christmas at Andreas and Marks house with my folks, my grandparents and Marks Mom and Dad. Mark cooked up a super yummy dinner and then the present madness began.

Wyatt of course had more fun with the boxes and paper than with the presents. But all those great gifts come in handy now that we are back home cooped up inside all day- thanks everyone!!

Unfortunately I didn't get too many pictures of the present opening- there was so much commotion I guess I forgot to get the camera out.

We miss you guys!!
