Adventures with Gramma

We had a great visit with Gramma Pam- she didn't spoil Wyatt too badly, helped mama get some sleep and she was a good sport about sleeping on the couch for a week and using the outhouse at 40 degrees below zero.

Gramma thought the only thing she would be carrying was the baby :)

We spent an afternoon day relaxing at Chena Hot Springs

The air was a little too cold and the water a little too hot in the outdoor tubs for babies but Wyatt did get his feet wet in the indoor tub.

Our friend Steve and his trusty hounds graciously agreed to give Gramma a taste of winter fun in Alaska- here they are hooking up the team.

You know your in good hands with this ole girl, she is the lead dog.

11 years old and still running strong!!

All bundled up and ready to run.

And they are off!

Back safe and sound but notice who is driving!! A true sign of the lead dog's abilities :)

Gramma thanks the team for a great ride.

Gramma's here

Gramma Pam braved the Alaska weather to come meet her newest Granson and help his Mama get some sleep.

Kisses from Gramma

Look Gramma, I can put my whole fist in my mouth!

First real bath

All snug and clean

Showing off for Gramma again. Not even 3 weeks old and he can hold his head up, he is very advanced for his age :)

Chillin' in the swing after all that excitement

Two weeks old

More pics of the cutest baby- he has changed so much in just two weeks, he looks very "mature" to us now.

Everyone loves little Wyatt

Wyatt is finally getting out and meeting people, although he has a lot more friends and family to meet so far is he has been a hit- especially with the ladies :).

Last weekend Max, Mette and Rachel drove in from Fairbanks to meet Wyatt.

Auntie Julie and Caz love Wyatt.

The wonderful mid-wives at the birthing center-couldn't have done it without them!

We are also very lucky that our good friend Rachelle is the public health nurse in Delta.

And of course Mama and Papa love Wyatt more than anyone!!

Cuter everyday!!

The pictures speak for themselves :)

Wyatt's first week

We had a few rough days getting settled in at home and figuring things out but we survived the first week and are now getting into abit of a routine- although its probably not the one I would have chosen. Wyatt is in charge now and he has got mama and papa wrapped around his little finger. If he wants to eat all night long and sleep all day who are we to argue? Plus he is so darn cute it makes it all worth it.

Wyatt James Mason

We are happy to annouce that Wyatt James was born on January 6th at 1:34am, he weighed 8lbs 10 oz and was 22 inches long. He was very well developed and alert after being alomst 2 weeks late (he takes after his dad). We were very lucky to have had a relatively quick and safe delivery. We arrived at the birthing center at 10pm and Wyatt was born 3 hours later- we timed the drive just right! The mid-wives were wonderful and the birthing center felt like the perfect environment to welcome our new baby. Here are a few pictures from Wyatts first few hours after delivery.

Lauren and Steve were the first friends to get to see how cute Wyatt is in person.

Still waiting....

This baby is taking its own sweet time...I am almost 10 days past my due date but I am feeling good and the baby is still kicking. We go in for a check up tomorrow so hopefully there will be some signs of progress. So for now I am looking to my friends and family who have had babies recently for inspiration. There is some pretty stiff competion for the cutest baby!!
The latest picture of our niece, Ana, just in from the Mellone family.
