Arctic Elvis

Delta Dog Daze

We had the pleasure of hosting the 6th annual Delta Dog Daze ski race at our place. The trail and weather conditions were great and the competition was tough. We had mushers, skijorers and skiers competing. Jeff stayed home and babysat so mom could get out on the trail. This race was the last in the series for the winter so the stakes were high. Springer and his team finished first for this race and was also the top finisher overall. If you would like to see more results and photos check out the race website that Rachel put together at http://www.racehardplayhard.com/

Ellen staked out the race trails and gave the pre-race briefing.

Rachel, Lauran and Lisa getting some sun and getting ready to race.
Lisa and her girls take off.

Jeremy gets his team booted up.

There was a lot of post race nappers lounging around the cabin.

I gotta have a talk with Springer about multi-tasking while babysitting!!

The Provider

Now that we have an extra mouth to fed the pressure is on Jeff to provide for the family, so far he has been doing pretty good. This month he got 2 Caribou , a couple grouse and some bunnies. The bunnies we trade for halibut with his friend Andy who lives out in Prince William Sound- I think we come out ahead on that deal!!

Here are a few pictures from this weekend when Jeff and Dan Reese went bird hunting.

While the boys were hunting out I snapped this picture of a grouse on the roof of our porch, there were two more out by the barn. I have set-up a grouse sancutary around the house- these birds are safe as along as they are in the yard, at least when I am home......

Baby Gear

Now that Wyatt is a big kid we are getting to use some new gear and big boy clothes. Thanks again to everyone for all the great stuff we have gotten!!

Julie and Shiway were down a couple weeekends ago and Julie dressed Wyatt up in his first pair of jeans.

Just a nice picture of father and son.

Trying out the new chair that Gramma Sherry got us.

No more worries about cold feets when we go out. Deb Nigro made Wyatt these awesome little moose hide/muskrat fur booties.

Everyone is doing it!

Blogging that is...Check out our friend Rachel's new site. I put a link to it on the side bar.

Still cute!

Hard to believe but Wyatt will be 2 whole months next week! He is so old that he is going bald. We took him in a couple days ago for a check-up and his first round of shots-ouch! Wyatt weighs 11lbs 7oz now. Here are a couple random pics from the last week.

This is what happens when Papa dresses the baby.

Buddha baby

Big smiles

Cute in stripes too!

Brrrrrrr!!

We had gotten spoiled the the warm weather, the -45 temps we have had the last week or so feel especially cold. Well at least the days are getting long and the sun is shining bright during the day. I think we are up to almost 10 hours of daylight now!!

Rookie mistake- You don't leave your beer outside for even five minutes at these temps. Greg should have known better!!

The moose came looking for food and found the hay behind the barn that we have for the goats.

It was so good that she brought her kids

Look closely at the little white nose poking out of the dog house...Mancha acts real tough but I'm guessing mama moose ran her into hiding. I wish I would have seen it- some guard dog!!!

Another Mason Baby!!

We are happy to report that Jeff's brother Ben and his wife Angie are now parents too! Little William (Will) Jeffrey was born on February 17th.

We are all getting together to compare babies at the end of the month, it is going to be a hoot to have all them all together. It will be a crazy full house at Grandma Sherry and Grandpa Bob's. Three babies under the age of four months plus Ann's 3 kids. We are also going to see my family in WI, Wyatt is looking forward to meeting everyone!!
